Frequently asked questions

How Bondsmith works, how client deposits are protected, and how to get started. If you cannot find what you need, contact us.

For firms offering savings

What is Bondsmith?

Bondsmith is the deposit platform: the infrastructure layer that lets banks, wealth platforms, advisers, fintechs and corporates offer competitive, protected cash deposits without building the infrastructure themselves.

Is Bondsmith a bank?

No. Bondsmith is the technology and operations layer between depositors and a panel of partner banks. Client deposits are held at PRA-authorised, FCA-regulated UK banks.

Can we use our own brand?

Yes. Most partners run Bondsmith white-labelled, with their own name and experience, or embed savings through our API. Your clients never need to see Bondsmith.

Do we need a banking licence?

No. Bondsmith provides the regulated infrastructure and the bank panel, so you can offer savings without becoming a bank or an EMI yourself.

How do we integrate?

You choose the model that fits: a REST API with webhooks for a fully embedded experience, the white-labelled platform with little to no engineering, or a combination of the two, for example the white-label front end alongside API-driven reporting. The white-labelled platform can be integrated behind your single sign-on (SSO), so clients do not need a second login.

How long does it take to launch a savings proposition?

A white-labelled savings proposition can be live in weeks. An API integration typically takes a similar timeframe, driven mostly by your own build. Both are faster than building deposit infrastructure in-house.

How do we get started?

Contact us about your clients and what you want to offer, and we’ll shape the right approach: API or white-label.

For banks

We’re a bank. Why work with Bondsmith?

Bondsmith connects your deposit products to the wealth platforms, advisers and fintechs that work with Bondsmith, giving you access to stable deposit funding from all client types, individuals, businesses, charities and trusts, through a single integration and one operational relationship.

What does joining the Deposit Aggregator panel involve?

Onboarding, due diligence and integration are handled once, with Bondsmith operating the flows, reconciliation and reporting on an ongoing basis. Contact us and we’ll walk through the process.

Can Bondsmith help with direct deposits?

Yes, Bondsmith can deliver a new direct channel (such as a Cash ISA or SME savings) or take on the outsourcing for your entire deposit book. Bondsmith can also help with Operational Resilience planning as an alternative direct deposit platform.

How can Bondsmith help with direct embedded savings?

Bondsmith can integrate with your bank and deliver a savings API, enabling you to start your own direct embedded savings partnerships.

For savers using a Bondsmith-powered account

I opened my account through a wealth platform, adviser or app. Who do I contact?

Your provider is the quickest route for questions about your balance, transactions or account. They run your savings experience; Bondsmith provides the infrastructure behind it.

Where do I sign in to Bondsmith Direct?

If you save with Bondsmith directly, sign in at savings.bondsmith.co.uk.
